Interphase is the first step in the Cell Cycle. It is the 'I' in I Make Candy. Interphase is the period before cell division and in this step, the cell grows to its full size. It also produces the organelles it needs to create its two daughter cells. One of the organelles that the cell might create are centrioles. Another thing that the cell willl create is two spindle fibers. A way that you can remember how they look when looking at a cell diagram is that the words spindle fibers sound kind of like the word spiders. (They kind of look like 2 little spiders with more than 8 legs.) The cell forms an exact copy of its DNA in the nucleus during a process called replication. In the end of this, the cell now has two identical sets of chromosomes. The Chromosomesare formed with DNA and protiens.
DID YOU KNOW.......
In animal cells, the centrioles are duplicated.
